Seatposts: precision to the tenth of a millimetre

Unlike modern standards, vintage steel frames (Reynolds 531, Vitus 971, Carbolite 103) require seatposts with extremely precise diameters. An error of just 0.2 mm can cause irreparable damage to your frame's seat tube. Our period-correct parts cover the main historical standards:

25.0 mm diameter: Classic French standard, typical of 1970s Peugeot and Motobécane frames.
26.2 mm to 26.6 mm diameters: Commonly used on mid-range tubing or intermediate Italian builds.

Period-correct saddles: leather ergonomics and steel rails

Leather saddles (Idéale, Brooks) and rigid plastic or suede racing models (San Marco Concor, Selle Italia Turbo) require compatible saddle clamps. For long distances on a touring bike or for historic events like L'Eroica, the leather tension and the condition of the steel rails must be perfect to guarantee the structural safety of the seating setup.
