650A & 650B Inner Tube x 28/42 Presta Valve ETRTO D7

A tube marked 650A and 650B, and the 28/42 figure carries the real information: it will seat tyres from 28 mm up to 42 mm wide. That range decides whether this tube belongs in your build, not the age of the bike it goes into. The valve is Presta, which is the first detail to check against the rim you already own.

What the markings tell you

The ETRTO reference D7 narrows the search. 650A and 650B are not identical diameters, and a tube that claims both must be read carefully. The 28–42 mm span is the useful guide. A narrow 650A tyre near 28 mm will sit differently from a wide 650B tyre near 42 mm, and the tube has to follow both. No adapter, no drilling, no compromise on the valve hole — Presta is what it is.

Fitting this tube into a vintage setup

Older French rims often pair with tubes that are harder to find than the tyres themselves. 650B was standard on many touring bikes and utility machines, while 650A appears on some city and juvenile models. If the rim is already built and the tyre is already mounted, the only remaining question is the tube. This one covers a useful middle ground.
