Sixty-five millimetres of forward extension—just enough to stretch out over a set of Maes bends without reaching. This PIVO stem was salvaged from a 1970s touring bike, still sporting its crisp logo and a clean clamping area. The 22 mm quill drops into classic French forks, while the 25 mm internal clamp swallows standard bars with a reassuring squeeze.
The alloy build is light yet torsionally stiff, bearing the patina of decades but no structural faults. Light storage marks are present, nothing that detracts from function. As always, the photographs constitute an essential part of the description; every surface is shown so you can evaluate the condition thoroughly.
If you need 5 mm less reach, the PIVO 60 mm stem is an excellent alternative. For the same 65 mm length but with a 25.2 mm clamp profile, this ATAX 65 mm stem is also in stock. And if you’d prefer a Belleri, the BF BELLERI 65 mm stem shares the same quill and clamp dimensions.
It fits steerer tubes with a 22 mm internal diameter, typical of French touring frames from the 1970s and '80s.
The internal clamp measures 25 mm, so it works with standard classic drop bars of that diameter.
Absolutely. This stem is period-correct for L’Eroica and other vintage cycling gatherings when paired with a suitable bike.
Yes, aluminium stems from this era remain robust if no cracks are present. Check the photos carefully and inspect the part before riding.
